Fireplace Mantel gone headboard

So my bball friend Cindy was remodeling her home. She had some beautiful crown molding she was throwing out and she said I could have it. I decided I wanted to make a headboard out of it. But then she called and said that I could have the fireplace mantel too! Well as it turns out the fireplace mantel was the perfect size for a queen bed....so we used it instead. I thought I was the first to do it...but after I googled it I found out I was NOT the first. But It is our own design. I didn't see any others like it.

And viola!! With some help form the husband we got ourselves a free new headboard!! Yahoo!! I am sure I will eventually change the white color to a cream but given the size of our house I wasn't conducive to paint the whole darn thingl

And while I was at it I finished distressing Richaels dresser that I bought him off KSL before we got hitched. thought I would throw that pic in too.

This is what happens when ya leave Ronnie home to babysit your kid. I was so proud of this.

Pretty sure that Richael got a little jealous of all the attention I gave brooklynns mohawk so he made his own.

Family is family...and we share underwear when we are in need. Here is Chewy in Kris's high fashion granny pants. I said...ya its so big you could tuck your sweater in it...and so we did.

This is Kris broken finger. Nearly peed my pants laughing every time I saw it.

And here is Dads broken toe. It can pretty much move around like a pull'n peel twizzler candy.

Here is Chewy in her ugly sweater and the matching ugly Christmas socks I got her for Christmas. Complete with the eighties ponytail and side laugh. We should have tucked her jeans in.

I put Brooklynn in this oversized oldmans shirt. Bobo hated it because it makes brooklynn look like a man.

I also gave Brooklynn this African updo.

So long story short Christmas was fun but the funnest part was reliving my childhood and playing dressup with dolls. Except Brooklynn was the doll.

As we all know..I work...and I only get to be with my family for Christmas every third year due to my work schedule. So I was SO HAPPY to finally be with the family for Christmas this year after year of waiting. I have more pics but here are a few favs.

This is Mia and me...and our rocking gingerbread house. Complete with dog, doghouse, christmas tree, tree and skateboards.

This was an attempt to get a "grandkids" pic. This is my favorite one . Chewy snapped it just in time to capture the momment.

And THIS is my favorite . Bobo and Andyroo left to shop. I was alone with thier kid and I just couldn't wiat to do THIS to their kid. Say hello to brooklynns MOHAWK. (you can tell by the smile she loved it)

The 2011 Christmas Card

The year of 2011 has gone by all too fast. But given that we were both on the edge of being kicked out of the singles ward due to our dinosaur like age we decided we best grow up and get married. Some people fall in love…others suffer through years of parental lectures and eventually give in like we did. While we are not proud that our parents won… we are proud that we held strong for thirty years.

So now we are married and we live in a tiny basement home, we have much less money, we drive trashier cars, we have an empty fridge, no cable (which has nearly killed Richael), we auction our organs on ebay for rent money, and we have NO fun….and NOW our parents are happy.

Our parents thought they won the battle. But now they want grandkids. ( Jokes on them…. because we are planning on holding out another thirty years).

Living with Richael has been realitively easy and even pleasant at times. Like when I come home and he has done laundry...or dishes...or cleaned the front room. Last night was one of those nights. I had been sick all week with a head cold and SO many things did not get done. I kept thinking I would be better the next day. Before I knew it..the week was nearly over ...I had to go to work..the house was on the brink of being condemned due to its state of disaster and I STILL felt like crap and my body oozed with snot. Needless to say..it was a bad week that just got worse.

But this morning I got home from work and the house was assembled again. Laundry was done. Dishes were washed. I was soooooo happy I could come home and have a day of recovery before I had to go back to work. So I cuddled up next to my humidifier and relaxed while I coughed up phlegm.
It was about the time that I got up to blow my nose for the kazillionth time that I decided to bring in Richaels dish from the front room along my way and THIS IS WHAT i SAW!!! UTTER DISGUST!!

That is right....this was his cereal bowl...and his fingernail clippings to join. For some reason he just HATES to take them to the garbage and I am constantly finding them in places they should not be....and this was his latest and greatest invention.

Be sure to stay tuned for our next addition of "where will Richael try to hide his fingernail clippings next?" (previous chapters included on the coffee table, on the carpet, or under the couch..each time he gets a little more inventive.)

surgery and bored out o my mind

So I had surgery....AGAIN...on my sinuses. My sisters like to say I had a "nose job." My sister had me send her a picture and this just seemed to capture just how I felt this week. I am still pretty drugged when I took this picture... think my right eye went lazy in the picture. But ya...this is how I felt.

I was told not to eat after midnight. I FREAKED! I had just gotten through fasting on Sunday!! My Surgery was not until 4:30 the next day. They tried to settle me by telling me that I could have liquids up until 10am. I knew the risk of aspiration but I also knew that they were giving me generic precautions. I knew that I didn't have some old lady metabolism so I ate that morning around 9:30. Just a small candybar....and the noodles to my chicken noodle soup..and my gum. There was NO WAY they would still be in my system by 4:30..they would be half way through my colon by then. Which is why I HAD to eat ...cuz if i didn't I probably woulda died of starvation before I even made it to the OR table. At least that is what i told myself as I was rebelliously eating myself happy.

I was told no exersize for 10 days. (My most dreaded words of life...you might as well tell me that I have to go back to dating again ... or I have to give birth naturally to a HORSE...or I have to stop eating chocolate..all equally as painful in my eyes.) So the next day I went for a much needed few miles WALK. Richael chastized me. I reminded him that I was told no exersize...I was NOT on bedrest. Poor kid tried to keep me in line...but who are we kiddin..it s Me..RONNIE.

I bled out o my nose for 2 days straight.. I was SOOOO annoyed. The first day I pulled a HUGE blood clot out o my nose. (A respiratory therapists dream!! Its was so big and relieving). But then I bled like crazy. Richael made me promise not to pull any more clots out. I agreed......but than by day three my nose was all crustied with blood. I could feel big dried clots o blood in the back o my nose. So while he was gone i got my hemostats and went to work. I cleared a good amount of DRIED blood clots out. I was finally able to clear myself a breathing path.

Anyhow...that is my story and I am feeling sooooo much better today.

But since i got nothing to do here are a few things that are worth the purchase.

The wonder hanger.....It SAVED our marriage. I have a lot of clothes...and NOT a lot of closet since the marriage. I tried these and they SAVED me from having to get rid of a lot of my clothes.

IF you have ever seen these at costco...GET THEM!! They are amazing. Rather spendy but worth it!!! Its like a big bar o almond and dried fruit and nuts in the most delicous togetherness . The are pretty filling as well.

I am a peppermint bark lover!! And DOVE makes one o the best!!

These milkshakes are SEASONAL at Chickfila...and how my goodnesstobetsy They are AMAZING!!

I had Richael get one for me when I wanted to slit my wrists because my nose wouldn't stop bleeding. It was just what I needed and I was happy for the next 10.5 seconds that is lasted. Then I wallowed in self pitty again.

I NEVER woulda tried these...but coworker wanted me to try one. And o my how pleasant it was !! I DO NOT LIKE chips so I never would have tried these otherwise. They are really good. I don't know if they are healthy or not..I am sure they claim to be. But they last a long time because they are individually packed with about 12 sticks per pack. Richael even tried it without gagging so you know if can't be too bad .

RONNIE: Oh my gosh..look at what BOBO did to brooklynn for Halloween. This is ridiculous.

Ten minutes pass and a disney princess commercial comes on and I start to gag.

RICHAEL: You do realize that if we have girls it is okay for them to play with princess toys and pretend to be princesses. They don't have to be GI Joe because you like it

RONNIE: I am not saying they can't, I am saying I am not going to make them. When they want to choose they can and if they want to be a cheerleader they can.....and I will roll my eyes.

Halloween

I was VERY disappointed in my costume this year. Wasn't RONNIE worthy so I didn't take pictures. But I did bring in a little Halloween fun. Richael came home from work and I put on a skanky bachelorette party outfit and then I beckoned him from the far room. People just laugh when I tell them this...but I am sure that after seein the convienience of it they will secretly want them for their kids too.

Just had to put a shout out for a new run i just heard about...its called the FOAM FEST!! Its like the exact opposite of the dirty dash. You actually run through tons of suds and foam and bubbles. Sounds like so much fun!! I tried to post pictures but I won't let me copy any of them. You can expect to see OFFICIAL pictures of ME in it next year however.

The THONG

So back when I lived with roommates.

We had this pair of thong underwear that would get passed around. Basically it was an ongoing prank where the underwear would show up in a random someones purse, cereal box, scriptures etc. Well one day I got the thong underwear and after stewing for a few days I came up with the perfect way to surprise the next recipient.....

I was absolutely giddy at the thought. I couln't wait to see the expression of ther person who got it next.

You would think the hardest part would be gettin the thong to fit in the cupcake...but the hardest part was NOT looking suspicious when I randomly made a batch of cupcakes..."just because." (cuz they all know I HATE HATE hate to cook). So I did what any girl would do and I blammed it on a wierd period craving. Then I left them on the counter for free reign.

ANd then it took FOREVER for them to get eaten. For some reason everyone in the house was being "good" and not eating junk. Until seriously EVERY cupcake had been eatin except ONE!! Ya...ONE left and of course it was the ONE with the thong in it.

Till one day it was gone and the last person to take it was Britney...she took it to work. I was so excited to hear the story when she came home. But when Britney came home that night...no story. So I gave it one more day. Perhaps she was saving it for the next day and it was still at work.
Or perhaps she gave it to a co worker!....or a client!... or her boss!!! Oh how I laughed and laughed at the thought. This could be even BETTER than I planned!!!

After the second day and no word I cornered Britney and after some prying she admitted that she did take the cupcake to work and got the surprise of a life time! lol. She said it "made her day."

And to this day..the legacy continues and the thong underwear is still in full force being passed around but I doubt anyone will even be able to top the legacy of the thong that I left behind.

One o the previews came on and Richael mentioned how excited I was for this show. He says it is because I AM Whitney. Lol. THen I watched some more of the previews and had to laugh because I am so whitney in so many ways.

FAVORITE FLOWER: DAHLIA So I planted some in 3 planter boxes and I painted and decored so I could have some form of plant life at the new place. I actually wanted to grow my own flowers for my wedding but they came around MUCH too late.

So I go to my planters and only ONE of the three has buds. This really errked me cuz they had 100% miracle grow dirt and lots of watering care on my part. The kind where I get into bed, (fully tucked mind you) and than I would remember I hadn't watered them and get OUT OF BED to water them.

So yesterday I was mad....Only ONE of the THREE planter boxes has buds on it. I decided to put my foot down right then and there. So I stopped watering the other two planters. I decided I would teach them lesson. They don't produce flowers...and I let them die of thirst and sortch to death....that will show them.

I know this is tmi for Facebook so I am putting it here. My favorite time o year is here stomachly speaking because the peaches are in season. I love them. I love that my in laws have four trees. I love that I married someone whose parents have free access to unlimitedness of them.

I love them so much that the repercussions of eating an overdose of them is worth it. Needless to say I am guaranteed a raw rear this next week and I am looking forward to it. I will look like the kid above, except I will have a smile on my face.

Giving up on decorations

Just for the record...I am giving up the ghost on decorations. I had started collecting them while I was single assuming one day I wouldn't be able to. Well that day has come. I got out my fall leaves last week and looked around the house only to realize I had no place to put them or decorate. These were my options

The bedroom ( then again, what is the point?)
The coat rack ( that looks ridiculous)
The kitchen table ( get in the way)
The couch ( I am getting desperate)

So ya..the only place that exsists is around the tv. I had to laugh. I really should post a picture of it. Pathetic, but I was desperate to celebrate a little seasonal goodness. I think I need to just come up with a seasonal screen saver to put on my computer so I can enjoy the seasons and have room for it. Beause lets be honest..the only room we have in our aparment would be about a megabites worth. lol

The Honeymoon

Standing in the airport on our flight home from the honeymoon. I am standing in line and I am rather obvious because I am the only one standing in line doing full
body stretches, lunges etc before I board the plane.
A lady I have never met before comes up to me and says,"Do you have some toiliet paper"
I think this is the strangest thing for her to be asking me for toiliet paper in the middle of the airport. So I say to her, "excuse me?"
She gets a little closer to my face and says, " I don't mean to embarass you, but you have toilet paper hanging from your pants." At this point I realized she was never asking me for toilet paper but telling me that I had some..hanging...from my pants.

Richael does a check for me and sure enough he pulls a few sqaures of toilet paper out o the back of my pants. I start busting up laughing. This is my life..these are the kind of things that happen to me. And now Richael has to take part in the embarassment. I just can't stop laughing at the thought of me stretching in line with a tail o toilet paper waving in the wind behind me.

I continue to laugh as we board the plane and Richael says to me...there is probably more..I just pulled what I could and it broke off. So I went a digging and pulled MORE toilet roll from my pants...still laughing. NOt sure where to put it...so I saved it so I could take a picture.

Most people would be MORTIFIED at this...but this sort of thing is not so bad for me. I once had a toilet seat liner hanging from my pants. This was so much better. lol.

I hope people didn't notice it flapping from my back when I passed gas...THAT would be embarassing. lol.

Two bands that I HEART HEART HEART enough to blog about at 5am...

The first is one o my favorite singers...MIRANDA LAMBERT who joined forced with Ashley Monroe and another girl. Ashleys voice is gorgeous and like no other very airy sweet twang. She did a duet with Ronnie Dunn a few years back (which just goes to show how good she is). Anyhow...Miranda pulled these girls together to to form the group PISTOL ANNIES. They blend so well and of course any song by Miranda has got just enough girl sass and their first song is called "hell on heels."

The second band is a guy and girl called Civil Wars and their voices blend so beautifully. They show how much inflection can have effect in a song in their song Barton Hollow. I am addicted to listening to this song. This song is also way old school country haunting but a great upbeat background.

Perhaps I will get savy enough to update videos...but you can't just copy paste a link anymore apparently. Sorry. I guess the only good news is that you can still copy paste the pictures!! But believe me...they are so worth looking up. CMT.COM is a quick reference to use. AMAZING!!!

So as I am sure as most people know I got engaged this week. Figured I outta tell the story/post the pictures. So Richael picks me up Sat to take me to Maddock (my fav place to eat in the entire world). It is my birthday on the 14th and due to conflictin schedules he decided to take me out this weekend instead. So we go to Maddocks...I am on cloud nine eating the most wonderful steak and we chat it up and enjoy ourselves. Before we left the house he also told me to bring warm clothes. I thought to myself..proposal for sure. And I figured that he would take me to Ensign peak because that is the only place we have actually hiked together. Sure enough he drives me right up to Ensign peak and we start our hike in the snow. Richael isn't the type to just bear the cold weather so I figured something was up. We hiked up to the top in about 30 min. The snow was up to our calfs and still coming down. When we got the the top of course we were the only ones up there. So we just talked and joked like we normally do. It wasn't until a good 15 minutes had passed that I realized he was NOT going to propose! I thought to myself....this little punk is just stringing it out!! He has NO intentions of proposing!! He knows EXACTLY what he is doing and he is just stringing my along!

So after I reached the above conclusion I just gave up on the thought. The fog started getting really heavy so we decided it would be best ot start heading back down the mountain. I turned to leave when I heard Richael call out my name, " Ronnie" he said. I turned back around and he was on one knee. I put my hands up to my face in surprise. Then he continued, " I have snow on my boots" and he dusted it off and stood back up.

YOU ASS!! I yelled at him. (yes I cussed at him) Then I gave him a two hand shove. Because this kniving little punk we just being a jerk and he VERY well knew it!! He was just leading me on! But I admit it was funny as heck and I was laughing my head off. We continued to joke and laugh as we walked back to the car.

By the time I got home it was 1220 and late so Richael said he was just going to drop me off. He walked me to the door step and kissed me goodnight. I walked back into the house and thought to myself....he did something to my room. Then I decided to stall just like he did. So I went to the fridge and dropped my leftsovers in the fridge and ate a few more delicious rolls EVER SOOOOOO SLOOOWLY. As I was eating I thought....I bet he is still in the driveway waiting for me to go to my room. SO I ran to the front window and peered through the blinds....but no car!! I was surprised and thought....oh well...I will just have to wait a bit longer to tell people.

So I walked up to my room..opend the door and gasped when I saw this. ....

Sixteen dozen roses all over my room. It smells SOOOOO good and it looked gorgeous!

I called him back on the phone to thank him. He said he was at my front door and I opened the door gave him a huge fat hug to thank him. His legs were shaking like crazy and then he got down on one knee and proposed. I said yes. THe ENd PS Special thanks to my roomies Shayla and Liz for putting all the flowers in my rooom while I was gone and making it look AMAZING. And another thanks to LIZ for making my bed for the picture. lol

The finger

Was on my way to the shop when Richael called to see "how far out I was...because he cut his finger." I knew exactly what that ment. It means it is a bad deep cut and he wants me to tell him if he needs to get stitches or not. I arrived to find this. He completely sliced through his finger AND the top of the nail. But I knew the ER would cost a butt load and we could probably do a little patching together to fix it. The next day I lavaged it and let it air dry before I glued it back together. While it was drying I wanted to protect it from getting hit ...and I came up with this ingenious contraption...the finger cone. It was designed after the well known dog cone. lol. I think I am so funny. Speakin o Richaels hands..here is a great one. We came out of the movies one day and his hand was completly BLUE. Couldn't figure it out how it got all blue. (picture below lacks actual blueness). The only place his hand was during the movie was on my leg..then we figured it out. I had new jeans...he rubbed the dye right into his hands.

My car bumper met its match a month or so ago. I decided to hurry off to work and in the process back into my roomies boyfriends car....his car won...mine didn't. Good news it has since been to the shop and Richael helped me fix it. All she needs is a coat of paint and all evidence is gone.

And I got a ticket last week.....just a month of being short of a 2 year clean streak. Good thing biking season isn'too far.

I talked Kris into coming up to ski because of the mass amounts of powder we had been recieving. It didn't really take much, just a few pictures of me on the mountain and all powder and she did it. I was so excited to see the kids...not so much the baby (I am not a baby person) but to see Mia & Kid Little. I had them stay the night and we made a fort and watched a movie and I was woke up a 9am with excitement about all the snow that was outside.

Kid Little forgot her coat so we had to makedue with what I had. This is what we came up with. I think she looks like on the the thug kids from the Fat Albert cartoon.

I felt it only appropriate to build a snow man with them since they are from AZ and have never done it before. But before we put the head on I let them sit on it first.

And here is the snow man all completed. Green Melt aways for eyes. Roommates molding carrot for nose and almonds for mouth. Also Kaylee made a hat out of snow at the top.

Lastly there was skiing. OH BLESSED DAY it was AWESOME!! POwder up to my knees! Kris and I followed Andyroo down our first double black diamonds. This picture is right where I ate it. Kris was shortly behind me so I put my hand up so she wouldn't run into me. She tired to divert and go around the left side the the tree only to crash and get buried underneath the tree. She took FOREVER to get out. I got up and continued to ski up to Andyroo. Andyroo looked back to see a mess of tree branched bobbing around. He asked if Kris needed help and i said, "Yea probably...but I dont' want to unclip my boots." He started to ski back to her so I decided I might go catch a good picture. I only got a few feet before I dropped my knees tryin to keep myself from peein my pants in laughter. She was still very much under the tree and stuck. She had started on the left of the tree but exiting on the right. I don't know if ya every tried to manuever skis in burid snow but it is a real butt kicker. I tried to get some keegals in inbetween my laughter and I was able to snap this picture.

Yes, that is her middle finger. She blamed me for blockin the trail but we all know if she was a better skier she woulda just gone around .

surgery and vday

SO had surgery on my delightful vericose vein a couple weeks ago. It was a funny experience. TO make a long story short they laser the main part and then rip the extensions out "like a bird pullin a worm outta the ground" as my doctor likes to say. Funny thing is...my nurse didn't wanna give me many drugs because my heart rate was so low. So we stayed on a very low dose o drugs....but then I started to brady and my heart rate went to 40 and my blood pressure was 74\40 and she flipped. She had to raid the crash cart and give me atropine and then narcan. So I was wide AWAKE for most all of my surgery. It was a strange feeling to feel him pulling strips or vein out of my leg.

THe good news is that the recovery is not a big deal. Hardly any pain. The only complaint I had was that they told me not to run for 2 weeks. I of course played basketball 5 days later despite recommendations and me agreeing to do as they said.

Then there was valentines day. Funny thing. I was talkin to Richael and thought I worked on Valentines day....feb 12th. He informed me it was the 14th. Oh, well I guess we know how often I have celebrated that day I lauged. He replied, " Good thing we resolved this before hand because if the 12th would have rolled around and I didn't do anything for you, you woulda been ticked." LOL.

Richeals busiest day in school is Monday so I took charge since I had not worked in a week or so. I just did a little dinner. Steak of course, the favorite of both o us.

Both Liz and I told our BF's not to buy use flowers on valentines because they are overpriced. But our more than kind room mate Shayla got the boys discount flowers from the shop she use to work at and so scored this gorgeous bunch.

While I told Richael that he didn't need to get me flowers I did make sure to mention that Sees candies were a must. I gave him the list o the chocolates I wanted. Then of course Super great guy that Richael is, he bought the roomies JA and Shay Sees candies for Valentines day. I thought that was real sweet of him. But when I saw that he bought them a WHOLE POUND each I ate the candy I had bought for them and didn't feel the least bit sorry about it.

And then there was the every delightful ice cream cake my Dad send me every year for valentines. Delicious. I ate it for breakfast every morning for a week. And I probably would have done it for another week if it lasted past a week.
Needless to say I was not proud of myself for eatin an entire ice cream cake and a 1lb box of sees candies in a week.

This is my idea of decorating. Somehow it looks okay in my mind because it all is so inviting and cozy.

THIS one is priceless. Pregnant ladies look away...this will make you gag. This is picture my sister sent me o the lugee she spit out the window. Much to her dismay when she got out of her car she noticed she hadn't quite spit it far enough and it clung to her car like a blood sucking leech. Which sister you ask? I will not disclose that information..I will just say that it could have been ANY of us. There are all capable of it.

THIS is what I did today. Alone...but that is ok because I had all the powder in the world to accompany me. And I must admit as I was riding up the lift with my music and white powder dancing all around me I thought to myself, " Well its not wonder you stuggle with the desire to be married. lol"

This is my room mate liz. She is gorgeous and the best girlfriend ever. After she foundout her BF was sick she came home from work and made chicken soup from scratch!! I had seen it made before but when I saw her diggin out it gibbits I was disgusted.... "OH SICK" , I said , "THAT IS SOO GYNO."

Sadly, Richael came over to eat just as Liz was preparing her food. I looked at him and said, "sucks to be you...liz is cookin for her boyfriend tonight...now you have to smell her good food while you eat the crap I made for you." In my prayer I blessed the food and I blessed that my dinner would somehow taste as good as Lizs. And I guessed it worked. Because as soon as the prayer was over lizs dinner went all wrong and her carrots didn't cook and her noodles went mushy.

This is my lastest purchase. Chaise lounge...LOVE them. Have been searchin for a good one. Got this little number brand new for sixty bucks!! It had been slightly broken in shipping and got a scratch so I got it for next to nothing. Thanks to KSL.

And then there is Richael, still hasn't come to his senses and dropped me yet. I wish he as as cute in person as he was in his pictures. ( don't let the cute smile decieve you.... he is just as much a punk as I am).

Here are a few more Thanksgiving pictures as promised.

This one was my MOM backflipped over the sink while BoBo washed out the baby oil she put in her hair. She thought it would help moisturize her hair...but instead she just looked like her hair had been rubbed in a fryin pan. It took everything out of me not to give her the spit yo-yo while she was in this vunerable position.

Then there was Mia who I helped get off to school in the morns so Kris could sleep in a bit. This is how she eatin in the morn still half alseep.

I also helped Mia do her homework after school.

With black friday approachin and Christmas toy commercials flooding the tv I just couldn't help but remember the toys that I saw on TV during this time and just HAD TO HAVE!! Those toys that I still remember seeing as a kid on the commercials and just hoping and prayin Santa would bring it. The ones I still remember over twenty years later. Here they are.
Barbie and the Rockers. LOVED this barbie. I got her and loved her frizzy hair, her white leather skirt and Derek her boyfriend.

This was the first doll I had EVER seen on tv that could WALK!! Cricket was her name. Both Kristina and I were amazed with this doll and just had to have it. I also remember my Dad mentioning how many batteries (like 8 D batteries) it took to run and the chance of us gettin it was slim. (o course this was the ONLY toy I actually remember my Dad not endorsing us having he loved Christmas and spoilin us).

Then there was heart to heart barbie. The barbie I saw on the commercials and wanted more than you would ever know. I just knew Santa would get it for me. It really was the ONE thing that I really really wanted for Christmas. However, on Christmas morn I was shocked to find that I didn't get it. However I did get a peaches and cream barbie. I am sure my parents thought it wouldn't matter and I would forget....but that is not true. I liked my peaches and cream barbie but I still wanted heart and heart barbie and it killed me any time i saw her on t.v. I can still hear little pieces of the advertisement jingle in my head. That commercial captivated me. Wish I could find that commercial I swear I would go straight back to being 6 again and just knowing that all happiness would be found in dressin my barbie in that big fluffy gown of hearts. She would be the envy of all th barbies.

Then there was the ULTIMATE toy!! Buzzy the Cookie cutter. I wanted this little Buzzie so so so bad and I was thrilled for Christmas to come so I could carve cookies and have unlimited fun with his cookie cutting abilities....however I was sadly disappointed when I didn't find him that morn. He was the "tickle me Elmo" of my time. My parents went to store after store after store after store tryin to find buzzy and could not find him ANYHWERE!!!!! I was really truely sad. However I did get a note from santa explaining things. I don't remember what thte note said but it explained that he tried and he was sorry. The good news is, I did get Buzzy eventually. I don't remember when or how but I did get him later.
And here he is in all his glory.

SO the moral of the story for all you parents out there. You may think that your kids will forget the toy that they always wanted for Christmas...but they won't. And you can think that another replacement will be just as great...but it won't. So if there is a toy your kids keep talkin about...get it..they will remember.

Threw some quick outfits together for Halloween this year. I was all excited for a top secret outfit to wear but a week b4 I saw the preview for the office and they STOLE my idea!! I was goin to do popeye and olive oil but due to network publication ruining my planI had to come up with a quick something else. Here is what i threw together.

Richael was a good sport. I am sure he wasn't too kean on dressing up but tolerated my dressing him while he was watching his beloved football game.

I settled on a quick Marge and Homer on a small fixed budget. Please note the blue leg hairs marge has (thanks chewy).

And here is Shaylas costume...so perfect I just had to throw a picture in of it!!

And of course our pumpkins. Its not halloween without pumpkins. Mine started gettin old quick so it looks all gummy and geriatric.

Vegas Ragnar

So I did the vegas ragnar this year. I heard so many people talkin about how fun the ragnars are that i just had to do one. SO when my vegas friend mentioned she was doing a team I invited myself onto her team.

I HAD NEVER BEEN TO LAKE POWELL...THIS YEAR I WENT TWICE!! OPPORTUNITY KNOCKED AND SO I JUST HAD TO TAKE IT. I WENT WITH MY COUSINS IN SEPT AND I WENT W/ RICHAEL AND HIS FRIENDS THIS MONTH. FOR SURE ONE O MY NEW FAVORITE PLACES!!

THE WEEKEND WE GOT THERE IT WAS AMAZING AND WARM
WE WAKE BOARDED AND TUBED AND ALL SORT OF THINGS I DIDN'T GET TO TAKE PICTURES OF. WHICH PS I TOTALLY HAVE ONLY WAKE BOARDED LIKE 3 TIMES AND THE LAST TIME I DID WAS ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AND I ROCKED IT. TOTALLY CAUGHT AIR AND LANDED MY JUMPS!!

MONDAY NIGHT IT STARTED TO STORMED WITH THUNDER AND LIGHTENING. MOST PEOPLE WOULD THINK THAT IS A BAD THING BUT IT LOVED IT. IT REMINDED ME OF MY MISSION. THE BLUE SKY AGAINST THE YELLOW SAGE IS SO PRETTY.

I JUST LOVE A GOOD THUNDER STORM NOTHING LIKE A GOOD STORM TO REMIND ME OF HOME.i TOOK THIS PICTURE BECAUSE THE LOVED THE CLOUDS, THREE DISTINCT DIFFERENT COLORS. SO PRETTY.

WE SETUP THE HAMMOCK ON THE UPPER DECK AND WATCHED THE LIGHTENING STORMS AT NIGHT. THE LIGHTENING GOT SO BRIGHT AT NIGHT IT WOULD MAKE YOU BLIND AFTERWARDS...LIKE A CAMERA FLASH DOES TO YOUR EYES AFTER IT GOES OFF IN THE DARK. SO AWESOME. So..back in JULY I posted about the dirty dash that I was sooo pumped to be a part of. It was by far on the the funnest things I did this summer. Right up there with sky diving and steer wrestling!!! I can't even tell you how much fun I had.It was the first one in Utah. It is a 10K through mud and obstacles. It kicked my butt for sure but it was oh so fun!! I have some more pictures to post but here is the one that I have for now.

Here I am runnin, pretending to enjoy the scene but really, I am about ready to kill over. All the mud on your legs and shoes really adds up....especially on the hills. I am here with Andy who was so kind as to push and wedgie me the entire time. The rest of my team is a ways in front of me.

Here is the beloved mud pit!! SO much fun that I went through it twice!! Andy and I cut back into the race afer we finished and went through it again and attacked Shaylas team!! IT was a blast!!

We also had a dress a cow event, greased pig and cow tail event. (I won the cow tail event). And I have had a bunch o people mention what a cowgirl I am since this event.....I have never been so flattered.

So as you all know...I have cut back on work and it was the BEST THING I EVER DID!

I have been practicing my guitar a TON!!! I actually run to it rather than the piano at times!! It is the perfect release and relaxation for me.

Usually I work a mon, tues wed schedule..but I didnt work monday this week. So I was able to paint furniture, practice guitar, play the piano, go on a 7 mile run and even cook!! (healthy of course) But it was so nice to just relax and have time to do things! I LOVE IT!!

SO I thought I would share a few of my new favorite indulgences

1.) ASPEN BREAD..tastes really good and hearty. Can buy 2 loaves at Costco for five bucks verses the ONE at great harvest.

MIMIS Carrot Raisn NUt Bread...I LOVE this bread from MIMIS, I actually CRAVE IT! So I just had to get the recipe. Thanks for recipezar I found it!! AND I was able to make it healthier.

From the first time I tasted this little numbers I LOVED LOVED LOVED THEM!!! THey were my special treat when I felt I deserved a splurge. They are super healthy and amazingly delicious, but not costly. LUCKILY they now have them at COSTCO!! It was a dream come true when I saw them last week. Pretty sure I cried a little out of happiness.

This is my new fav mascara. I have done the original mayballiene, the Max Factor but this one is the BEST. It lasts so much longer than the others. SOMEHOW it doesn't dry out as fast...and there are often LOREAL cupons in the mail.

Lastly I also have fallen victim to this little treat. I take it to work because I know I will burn most o the calories off.

We had not seen enough of Liz for the week...so we took care of that...my own little a creative manner of course......

Sadly however, she saw the camera early and ruined the exact plot but i tried to pull her into the frame after I encompassed her and we got a quick little bit o it on there! I grabbed her with the sheet and Shayla covered her head with the pillowcase. Mor pictures to come when i can find them. Although it wasn't quite as grand as I planned it to be, she did NOT see it coming.It was a grand time and we all got some good "catching up on life" time together.

College Singlehood REunion

Ash called up. She is on o the last of our diein breed of singles let from BYUI. Ot the 12 girls from the top of the A apartments there are only 4 left unmarried and we try to reunion when we can. My aunt was more than generous to offer up her cabin and ATV's for a much needed retreat.

This is my an Ash.....is didn't take long for me to get bored being the back seater...so I made a great game of JOUSTING!!! They didn't see it coming till it was too latle and my branch was buried in Julie anns left buttock.

It was really fun...and we won of course.

Waterparkin it

Chewy and BOBO came into town over last weekend and we waterparked it. It was a goodol time. Time passed much quicker than known at the water park. This is the only picture I snapped however..so here is a quick list of the not pictured momments

SO of COURSE I had to save my BEST for my last!! Here is the chair that I love...almost done! I seriously sang the song " You are so beautiful" to it while I painted it. I am most proud of this project.

Growing

So here is the garden now. Growing quite well.

HEre is a little dilly I stole while peeking over the fence at our neighbors garden. They had string strung from metal posts. I was so excited I ran right into the garage and found my roomies painting sticks. I drilled holes into them to string the sting and Wallla!! They are doing much better.

ANd my Dahlia FINALLY bloomed!! I am so excited. But kinda sad that it isn't a two toned as I wish.

Here is the peonies that we once had and have since gone their way. I can never get over the bud in top o the picture. Its amazing that that thing can hold such a huge flower. It is just bursting at the seams!!
