RURAL AFRICA

Here are just a few pics of the rural part of Africa.

ELEPHANTS ON SAFARI

SO here are some pictures from our WALKING safari. Ya, we walked around the jungle with a tour guide who kept a gun...just in case... these pyramid sized beasts came at us!! Which it DID!! Here is a picture of one right before it trumpeted and charged the group behind us!!

Heres some of the elephants as they gather to take a bath. They bath together...kinda dirty perverted animals.

Here is a pricless picture I captured in action of an elephant pooing!! More then likely one of his friends will step in it and bring it into the bath with them.

Here is another amzing picture of just what an elephant is capable of. NO kids, this is not a chocolate flavored snow cone...it is elephant dropping. No not ask for a taste.

ONe of my FAVs

I just had to put this picture up because it is so darn cute. Just look at how innocent his eyes are, and so full of hope. It think it speaks well for the type of people that are in Africa.

AFRICA HIGHLIGHTS-- C section

So I just have to post a few pictures from my AFRICA trip..but I won't bore you with long breath expanding details...the pictures say it all. The reason this is one of hte highlights is because it shows a little of what i do at work every day!! I go to C-section deliveries/high risk delieveries and resuscitate new born babies!! However, it is NEVER that i get to take a camera to work...except in AFrica(no hipa here)
HERE IS ME IN THE OR IN THE ANAWA HOSPITAL OR

HERE IS WHERE THEY HAVE CUT AND NOW THEY ARE RIPPIN THE SKIN OPEN

HERE IS A GOOD LOOK AT THE RIP AND THE YELLOW FAT/ADIPOSE TISSUE IN THERE

NOW THEY ARE PAST THE SKIN THEY CUT INTO THE UTERUS

AND THERE IT IS!! THE TOP OF THE HEAD!!!

C-section part 2

AND HERE IS THE DOCTOR PULLING THE BABY OUT!!

AND HERE IS OUR BRAND NEW BABY, HEALTHY, PINK AND CRYING. OUR WORK HERE IS DONE!

SO WHEN PEOPLE ASK ME WHAT I DO AT WORK ALL DAY, THIS IS JUST A LITTLE PIECE OF WHAT I GET TO DO !! I LOVE IT!!!

living quarters africa

SO as part of the African story comes the actual living quarters
HERE is one of the first friends who came to greet us along with his 20 generations of family members throughout the week. ANd ya, that is our kitchen counter he is dancing on.
HERE IS THE BEDS WE SLEPT ON...old hospital mattresses.....i try not to think about the strange types of ooze that they have been soggied with having come from the hospital.
Here is our bathroom...but dont' be decieved...that bath is just for looks,it doesn't actually work..it is just a big fancy drain. Our baths consisted of a bucket of fetched water and a cup. And the sink...it didn't work either...if ya spit in it, it just drained onto the floor below it.

Here I am doing an early morning chore with my broom...sweeping dead roaches. People like to kill them, they don't like doing the dirty work and sweeping their lifeless bodies away for proper roach burial, so I do that part.

THE DEMOLTION DURBY DREAM

So it was about this time last year that I was sitting on the bleacher seats with my friend Apes simply enthrolled in the momment of attending my first DEMOLITION DURBY!!! I was filled with absolute glee. My body shrilled with excitement as I heard the sounds of roaring engines, squeeling tires, busted metal and gobs of mudd. It was my version of a heavenly choir.
Anyhow just as it was coming to a close they announce that any girls who wanted to demolition were welcome to participate for fifty bucks!!! The girls simply paid 50 bucks and finished off any of the cars that could still run and finish them off in what they call a "powder puff round."
I just about flipped my lid with excitment!! I had no idea such a thing exsisted!!! I felt robbed and deprived that I had never known of such an event. I nearly broke down into sobbing tears because I didn't have the money on me to participate...but from the very momment nearly one year ago I SWORE that I would participate in the 2008 Idaho State Fair Demolition Durby!!!!

So my friend...the day is approaching us and I twitch with anticipation every time i think about it...SEPTEMBER 6th 2008..I will be in the drivers seat of a piece of shiz (other then my own) free at the wheel to conquer a field of mudd and metal debris. !!
The invitation is open to anyone interested in attending. But chances are, much like my trick or treating of 2007, I will end up going alone. But I am fine with that, I can not let the opportunity pass or let the dream die.
I have the feeling that this could be the beginning of a GREAT family tradition!!!

Ronnie brings to life another one of her visions

SO i often come up with ideas that i consider sheer genious..others consider it a lack of sanity. Whatever you consider it, I say it is a MUST in life. My latest vision came to me as I watched college ball and a commercial came on for Toyota with a bunch of grown adults racing BIG WHEELS down a huge hill. I thought this idea was certain to be pure delight and i just had to try it. It was a like a soapbox durby but better! But alas to my miss fortune the Big wheel price has increased as much as gas prices these days. SO as the wheels in my fro head continued to turn I came up with the most excellent replacement! The only problem is that I do not have many friends who want to share in my visionary ways and so I sat on the idea until the perfect person came into town to fulfill the dream....none other then my sister BOBO!!

The ideas consisted of a soapbox contraption made from regular garagehold items and a need for speed!!(see image below)

+The radio flyer acted as a sopabox for two
+The oversized fat kids in the wagon served as speed increasers
+The push brooms acted as brakes
Yes the idea was perfect...but yet there was still something else missing...SAFETY!!

............SO I rounded up some helmets for the 2 of us

.........And i added some emergency parachutes just in case

We thought about taking a test run before we set to the top of the mountain but decided that that illimated the suprise element.

.................BOY were we surprised at how well it worked and how fast it went!!!

But can I just say that we had the time of our life!! It was a blast...and that radio flyer held up like a champ!! I am pretty certain we covered a good 2 or 3 miles straight down hill. And YES, it was dangerous and YES I am aware of the CHANCE of concusions, broken legs arms and teeth...but it is the chances that keep us from living life to the fullest and we were not going to let that stand in our way! For today was the day a vision was brought to life!! For complete footage of the event ask for the video tape footage we took!

THe ol bagg turns 27

Just wanted to be sure to put a shout out to my good bud ER who remembered my birthday and planned the most perfect birthday outing ever.....it of course involved sports!! That batting cage to be exact!!! So not only did I get to spend my birthday doing what I love most...SPORTS!!! I also got to take out my old age bitty single anger all at the same time!!!

As for the present ER gave me, it wasn't quite as cool. I took a picture of it for memmories sake. Here it is, my BLISTER PRESENT from ER!
Please note....this is not the girl you want to invite to your birthday party....her presents aren't all they are talked up to be.

DIRECTIONS??? Who needs'um

Long story short...on our way to Bachelorette party. Mel says go right instead of left and my car suddenly sinks on one side like a it's legs were pulled out from underneath it. Crap I shout and here is what we saw....Mel laughed...I did too...in time.

So of course nobody at the party answers their phones so me and MEl trek our way into the cabin via foot and leave the Blue L.S.S. to the car eating road. When we got there I got three trusty helpers.

Sure they are cute, but I never guessed they would be able to pull Blue L.S.S. out of her perdicament. So I asked them to bring a shovel..so they did.....and that was when it broke.

So as you can tell, all the stars we aligning for me. I started wondering it I really wanted to spend money towing Blue L.S.S. out. I thought maybe I would just leave her there to die in piece...and be consumed by the mudd road rather then tow her off in pieces. But much to my surprise...they pushed her right out!!! Unfortanetly, during this process Brook fell right in!!

ITS ALL FUN & GAMES TILL A SHOE GETS SOGGY

Unfortunate for Brook, she fell down the very hole that the Blue L.S.S. did...this is what I saw...right before I peed my pants laughing. Yes, at the age o 26 I peed my pants laughing. Brook didnt think it was so funny.

HEre is another picture o Brook down...searching for her shoe as she swam through mudd.

I just couldn't get enough of these pictures..can ya tell. So here is another of Brook looking for her shoe while everyone takes pictures rather then helping her.

Here is the lucky plunge just before she found her shoe!!

A smile finally fills Brooks face as she retrieves her mudd stained shoe....now 20 lbs. heavier.
PS Anyone who is friends with Brook I recommend you click/enlarge the pictures...her facial expressions are priceless!!
So Brook felt that she needed to seek revenge and let out all her anger so she drug her shoe across the back of my car in the form of a poo streak. I didn't care much. I have seen much bigger poo streaks on the hospital beds.

We knew it was a bachelorette party but we didn't know Brook was providing the strippin until she went streaking across the kitchen in her whitee tightees. It was quite the party.

Don't diet, exercise instead

SInce it is swimsuit season...and since it seems that all the cool "mom" thing to do is to blog about diets and eating I thought I would throw out a few of my own food consuming techniques that I live by. Not that I am a Mom, more so that I can fit in and conversate with those of my own age category.
1.) I never eat anything if the first listed ingredient is high fructose corn syrup or corn syrup....unless it is a cinnamon gummy bear, a chocolate covered cinnamon bear, a gummy peach or a gummy worm.
2.) If I decided to eat a whole candy bar just before bed, I have to do a mile or two on the treadmill before I can go to bed.
3.) If I eat a lot of sugar, I overdose on water. I like to believe that it waters down the sugar and I pee more of the sugar out then I actually digest and store. (of course I LIKE to believe this...but we all know it is not true by the bounce in the rear of my walk). But in all seriousness...when a patients K is too high, we just dilute it out...so why not do the same with other excesses.
4.) Before a good run or a good workout..BINGE. I always binge before I run...or the entire DAY when I know I am going to run that night. Because I love my junk food and so if I plan accordingly I can eat it with only minor caloric body depositing.
(AND YES>>>THIS IS ME>>>>>AND THOSE ARE MY FEET BEFORE I SHAVE THEM...lol)

5.) I punishment affixed it I totally overdose on junk food. I have a mental talk in my head and I make a promise to my mental self right before I eat my third or fourth candybar, that if I eat it...I have to go running. That way before i eat the junk I carefully consider the consequeces and accept them as part of the pleasure to the sugar sensation.
6.) ALways have healthy snacks on hand. Granola bars, almonds, water, fruit leather etc
7.) Cut the soda. It's not that good anyways. Water tastes so much better and it doesn't leave that nasty sandy plaque on the teeth. Potatoe chips taste crappy too...don't eat them.
8.) Weigh your options...either you can eat a ton and exercise it off and still have a bundle of endorphines to enjoy afterwards
OR
you can diet...think about food all day and what you are missing and live miserably.
