i WAS on the church website and noticed a few things about the Haiti desctruction that I found interesting and thought I would share.....
The leaders of the church (Monson, Eyering & Uchtdor said they are "keenly aware that many in America are dealing w/economic challenges brought on by the recent recession. Many church members have made substantial contributions to the Church Humanitarian Services, but more is needed."
I was quite surprised at this statement. It is not too often that I hear the church say they need more. The website also said that ALL of the church meeting houses were left largely undamaged and they are being used as shelters at this point.
Anyhow, I just know that there is a little somewhere that we can cut back this week and make a donation to the church Humanitarian program. If the leaders say more is needed I can only imagine how big the problem really is.
